Born and raised in France, I studied at the Sorbonne in Paris and completed a Master’s degree in linguistics. I taught French and German in France before moving to the United States. I’ve been working at UNH as a Lecturer in the French department for nearly 25 years. My interest in linguistics and languages also lead me to do some contract work as a translator, interpret, and linguist for language learning software.

Over my years of teaching language classes at UNH, I experienced the changes that technology brought to college learning and how it influenced my teaching style and methods. I also noticed (with dismay) how expensive traditional language-learning material can be.

Thus, the UNH OER project is very exciting to me: using OER in my courses will allow me to customize the material to my needs, my style of teaching, and more importantly, to my students’ needs. It will also help me expose my students to engaging and current material….at no cost to them.
