Bio: I have been teaching communication classes since 1988 and have enjoyed every minute of it! I graduated from the University of Mississippi with a Bachelor of Arts in Education (Speech Communication) and received my Master's degree at the University of South Carolina where I traveled extensively with the USC debate team. In 1999, I completed my Doctorate Degree in Instructional Design and Development at the University of South Alabama. In 2001, I left the University of Mobile where I was teaching as an Associate Professor and moved to Maine with my family (still have a southern accent even after all this time in the Northeast!).
My Instructional Challenge: I would like to investigate how I can better use technology for groups to meet together in the COMM 542 - Interpersonal and Group Dynamics online course. Currently, I suggest Google Hangouts for their meetings which seems to work reasonably well but I am wondering if there is a better way. Some use Vyew and others use Skype. Also, is there a way we could have group presentations at the end of the course that the class could "attend" online rather than them just uploading their projects for the class to see?
